We are a cosy and welcoming cafe & farm shop set in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside.
We pride ourselves on using locally sourced and sustainable produce to provide our customers with hearty homemade dishes as well as sweet treats and local icecreams.
We first opened our doors in 1996 to sell the real dairy ice cream which is made on the farm with milk from our very own dairy herd.
Our ice cream has won many awards over the years in the national ice cream competitions organised by the Ice Cream Alliance, the governing body of ice cream manufacturers.
Since that initial opening a tearoom was added in 1998 and further expanded in 2001.
Further developments include a larger kitchen and an in house bakery.
The tearoom has an extensive menu to suit all tastes, from snacks to three course meals.
All our meals are freshly prepared from local produce and our 'Specials Board' changes daily.
Especially popular are the Hayton Farm Shop Sunday lunches and booking is essential.
All the desserts and cakes are made in our own bakery, from tray bakes and fruit pies to “forget the waist line” cream cakes.
A large variety of flavours of ice cream are offered, made with ingredients imported from Italy, together with a selection of sorbets.
There are also a wide selection of ice cream sundaes to choose from.
In the shop you will find are variety of biscuits, sweets, preserves and chutneys, some made locally together with a range of gift ideas.
